A story about one cat, a scary diagnosis, and a mission born from love.

Sip & Purr was born from a scare we never want another cat owner to go through.

When our cat Carrot was 6 years old, we noticed he was barely touching his water bowl. We did not think much of it at first, until a vet visit revealed he was developing kidney disease from chronic dehydration. It was a wake-up call. We had been giving him food, love, and play, but something as fundamental as water had quietly become a problem.

After researching, we discovered that cats are instinctively drawn to moving water. In the wild, still water is often unsafe, so cats evolved to prefer the flow of a stream. A regular bowl, no matter how clean, simply does not appeal to them the way running water does.

We got Carrot a water fountain, and the difference was immediate. He started drinking regularly, his health improved, and today he is still with us: happy, hydrated, and completely spoiled. 🐾

That experience led us to create Sip & Purr. We wanted to make it easy for every cat owner to give their cat the one thing that makes such a profound difference: the desire to drink more water.
